Muddy Waters. I'm sure you've heard the name. In addition to being the finest one to dance the last waltz, pompadour maintainer, a chef (http://www.muddywaters.com/recipes8.html), and this week's Lundi Legend, Muddy was also a brilliant Blues musician. His voice is close to being the best in the blues, and the songs he played are the most often covered of all of the blues musicians. The Beatles talk about him in come together. The Rolling Stones named themselves after his song. Every important scene in every movie Martin Scorsese ever made is set to his music (or house of the rising sun).
He also is responsible for breaking the hearts of every British-invasioner when he revealed the tragic reality that "those white boys might play circles around you on the guitar, but they can't ever vocal like a black man."
Was he right? Of course, but decide for yourself. Here is My John the Conqueror Root, and to the filthy minded out there, this song is not a string of innuendo. If you don't believe me, wikipedia John The Conqueror Root, its actually a magic plant.
